GOVERNMENT ENGINEERS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

2026 Program Information

The Missouri Society of Professional Engineers and Kansas Society of Professional Engineers are teaming up to launch the Government Engineers Leadership Program (GELP) in 2026. This program, exclusively offered to MSPE/KSPE members working in the government sector, is for individuals committed to developing their leadership abilities.

This program imparts specific skills and competencies utilizing highly interactive sessions taught by experts in the field of engineering, business administration, government affairs and people management in government and professional services firms. Program attendees will participate in structured professional development sessions, build their network through meaningful connections, and gain hands-on experience with guidance from industry mentors.

Inaugural Class

Class sizes will be limited to 20. City, county, state and federal authorities, and other municipal/government entities may register one or more people to the program, each year. Registration priority is given to first-come, first-served. A waiting list will be maintained.

Attendees must be present at all sessions.  If more than half of one session is missed, that session must be attended the following year to graduate.  Only the attendees registered may attend the sessions. PDH certificates will be provided at the end of the program.

Registration & Application Process

Participation in the Government Engineers Leadership Program is not automatic. All interested individuals must complete an application, which will be reviewed and considered with class size limitations. Final acceptance into the program is determined after the review process, and applicants will be contacted directly with the committee’s decisions.

How to Apply

Download the Application – Complete all required fields on the form.

Upload the Application – Use the registration link provided to securely submit your completed application.

Applications must be uploaded upon initial registration online. Because a number of interested applicants are waiting for their internal leadership approval, applications will continue to be accepted.

Once your application has been reviewed and you are officially selected, KSPE/MSPE will issue an invoice for program tuition. Payment is required by the deadline to confirm your spot in the program.
